bike town usa... oh hell,come on

a few years ago we were named one of the growing bike friendly cities in the u.s. we the city even received bikes from some bike manufactures to give out for free. we even had the spotlight in bicycling magazine and king jerry was the guest speaker in d.c. what a crock. i knew a woman that received one of these bikes and her only promise was to ride everyday for a year. she did and then bought a bike from me. she could be one of the few. i know i just sound bitter but come on we are one of the most unhealthy cities in america. we also have tons of unhealthy kids and we won't even talk about the smokers. we have made some progress, we have some bike lanes and that's great but people don't just ride on the street. trail systems are being closed and false promises of trails here and there at new recreational areas through out this large county.
