storm the frozen greens

my morning started with a very late departure time thus a late arrival time at the race. upon entrance to the start tent i was informed that i was late and could not start. thanks to bobrow and tim omer i got my number. i guess bobrow doesn't read the blog since he was nice enough to pin my number. it was and is wicked cold out there today. the start of the race was good with pope and segal getting bad starts or was it that i got a good one. things were looking good coming into the first sand pit then my day fell apart literally. my pedal had frozen to the spindle and worked it's way out of my crank. i ran i walked then what the hell i'm done. i stood there and cheered on fellow racers until john harris came through with a tool from the haley camp. thanks guys. my day was spent at the back a lap down. thanks to all the people cheering me to last place. a finish is a finish. the course was getting more hazardous as the day went on. there were lots of riders hitting the deck. the best part of the day was seeing that the infamous sand traps had frozen over and were very worn in and a breeze to ride. congrats to all the first time racers that came out today. sherri had a good ride and a few good falls. the rogues kicked smoe ass today and for the year. webber, and doug were on the box. good work. you can't leave out tallgirl for all the photo ops. thanks for your hard work today. the next cross race is coming up on dec. 20th at briar hill park. this isn't part of the ovcx but should be fun regardless. mountain bike depot is putting this on so check there site.

  1. frozen is right! the Greens are all white with frost in the pictures. Sure wish someone had captured one of my spills! Love the pain. Rogue is a great group, so glad you are one of us John!
