Chirp Chirp Chirp

Damn guys... it's quiet in here. Thought I'd post up just for something new to read. All is well in RiderLand. Work is slow, but I'm still on the road. Consider myself fortunate 'cause I know alot out there are not so lucky to have something to go to every morning.

Briar Hill is a mud fest. Hiked it with the wife, kid and dogs and some areas might be dry by July... maybe. Got the rollers out and slicks on the bikes. Man I missed those things (for about 10 minutes). The wife has been on hers more than I've been on mine. Props to her. Working on two of my Kleins and should have them put back together and rideable within the next month. Looking forward to not having parts laying around soon. Even more... Alicia is looking forward to not having parts laying around.

The big blue truck is in the middle of transmission and transfer case surgery right now and soon will have some engine work done. Some how I must have pulled a stud from a rocker arm or just broke the damn thing cause she sure sounds like shit right now. I always get a little crabby when something is wrong with the truck. Alicia will be happy when I get the truck back up and running @ 100% again. The checkbook will be happy... as well as Molnar and Derek since funds will be allocated back at them, lol.

Anyone out there got anything good going on?

  3. Man... my wallet is in pain, lol. I wasn't expecting as big of a bill and she isn't even done yet. I can't wait to get back in it. Alicia's Pathfinder just isn't as fun to drive. If I make it out of work in time, I'll swing by this afternoon.

  4. Anything good going on...I think so!

Trail work at O'bannon woods is going great. We have been having great volunteer turn outs, the park staf is very supportive and fund raising has been going well. We are looking to have 15 miles of new trail built by years end which will give us rough 20miles of new trail. Additinally we have roughly 15 mile loop that can be ridden now with some hike a bike. We have HMBA and volunteers to think for the success of this....O'bannon Woods is going to change mountain biking in this area...Bike shops might want to start carrying more all mountain bikes...

On a personal level have several big trips planned for the year. I have a snowboarding trip planned to Tellurdie CO,next month, a 2nd snowboard trip planned for Mt. Hood/Helens in June. These will be 1st and 2nd snowboarding trip out west for me. Also working on a mountain biking trip out west for late summer, maybe vancouver!

Brewed my first batch of home brew an IPA The processed finished two weeks ago and the 5 gallons of beer is almost gone...2nd batch (a milk stout) goes to secondary tomorrow.

  5. damn... o'bannon seems like it's gonna be a hotspot this summer! wish landowners/park staff and the mtb community pull together like the hmba group. they are a great model to follow. maybe someday issues can be put aside, lol.

as for those trips... wow. i have not been to any of those places, but i have flown over mt hood and it is amazing just to see from a plane seat. i couldn't imagine actually being on them. very exciting indeed.
