This part of winter reminds me of when I was a little boy in Poland. I would roll frozen barrels of beer home to Mama. She would serve it hot with a little berry syrup stirred in. Well, maybe I'm making most of that up but, warm berry beer is good stuff. You should try some. Here's how:
Go to a liquor barn or whole foods and pick up some Zywiec (Polish pilsner beer- or something like a Pilsner Urquel will work too). Then, grab some berry syrup. I like boysenberry syrup. Heat a couple pints in a pot, then mix the hot with cold beer as needed to serve. Stir in some berry syrup and enjoy! Remember- real men (and women) drink warm fruity beer in the winter.
Just back from Warsawa and drank plenty of Zywiec, not bad for Pils. I saw people drinking hot beer. Personally, just not a fan of fruity beer. One of the people I am working with is Meehow (Michal) and another is Mewash (Milosz). Very warm and friendly people
