This past Wednesday, the trails at the park were the most tacky I have ever seen them. You could really get into turns, and hang it out! The place was packed, but I didnt care. It was great to see everyone out enjoying the sun. I almost forgot what riding with just a jersey on felt like. It was the kind of day were you call the wife and say,"I'm gonna be late.___(any name)___ had a flat, and I had to help him." Everyone has done that, right?
This was also the first hard ride on my new Gary Fisher Rig 29er SS, that I bought from John over the winter. The thing rips! Perfect for area parks. I read alot of info about 29ers before I went all in, so I was expecting it to handle sluggish. To my surprise, I honestly can't tell a difference in the handling between a 26" wheel and a 29". But this is from someone who thinks carbon bikes feel like riding plastic. They do roll better, and if you suck picking lines, a 29er may be the way to go. The only negative is; on uphills it takes a little longer to get momentum again. All in all, I'm very happy about the whole thing. Spring is finally here. Work less, Ride More!
