cassette prices go up

yes, like everything else the price of your bike parts are going up. rubber is always going up and down, that's a given {oil product and all}. back to the matter at hand, cassettes. the price will be going up at least 10%. why you ask. well it seems as though the government the customs and border protections to be exact has their hand in our fun once again. they have changed the status of the freewheel/cassette. now the freewheel status will not change only the cassette. the cassette will be reclassified as a residual bike part. what does this mean? i don't exactly know. i do know this will result in higher prices for the said part.

ok, this said make sure you keep your drive train clean and lubed to prolong the life of it. don't know how to do this, contact your local shop and ask how and what they suggest. i the mean time contact your local and state officals and let them know how you feel. the distributors are letting the customs office know that this is unwarranted and inapproprite.
