This photo was snapped right before Nys controversially leaves his line and heads toward the opposite wall. After watching the video you can see Nys look under his arm and then move. Yes I feel Nys was blocking, that said, it never appeared Pauwels had the speed to pass him anyway. On top of that, Pauwels sits up well before the line, throwing his hands in the air. This is no way to finish a race on Pauwels part. If you've ever raced, you've surely blocked someone out and as casually as Nys made his way to the opposite wall I feel he won the race fare and square. If Pauwels felt he was illegitimately being blocked and slowed he should have just kept his head down, powered through it and taken the both of them out. Fuck it.Here's more:
