well it looks like cyclist are get screwed once again. after three very successful years of the usgp coming to town it looks like we get the snow job. just what we need another dog area. i don't have a problem with dogs, hell i'm a dog owner and have been my whole life. we have a special dog area at the park fenced off and everything on top of the tunnels. we have another one out at tom sawyer. so we have 2 dog parks/areas in town yet these jackasses still have their dogs off the leash. need i mention dog hill. what leash law. they hope to have the fence up and permits being sold by the end of the month. this leaves us with out a place to have the last cx race and state championships. thanks jerry. i thought that the water company owned the area not the city. i could be wrong. ah fuck it the city is just out to screw the citizens and do as they please in the name of progress. this is just my side the cyclist side. i can't wait to see the reaction from the cross country teams.
That loser Jerry was actually down at the GP races looking at who all he was screwing over. Can't believe they shut the door on the GP that way. Damn people are down there with their dogs every day anyway and I have never seen any leashes to begin with. Bike friendly Louisville...what a joke.
ReplyDeletewake up people!!! louisville has and never will be a "bike friendly" town. until "WE" can unite under one cause and show the town real numbers, nothing will get done in our favor. i'm talking CX, MTB(CX,DH,Slalom,Street),Road and BMX.
ReplyDeletedo you honestly think jerry rides a bike more than 2x's a year? the only tire that guy has is the one that's floping over his belt.
so...i'll take my happy ass out to Ft. Duffield, ride the trails there and be content on helping those guys...seems that anything more than a ant fart on any part of cherokee trails calls for the minion to form a posse to have a "trail day."
Well the good news is Jerry is out soon. Bad news is Jim King seems to be on his way in. Figure that is a forgone conclusion (although I hope not). Anyone who can buy their daughter a spot on the bench surely can buy himself a seat in the mayor's office.
ReplyDeleteHopefully some actual change to the city leadership will come soon. At least "River Road Live" is not taking over Champions Park.
And ditto on 2x4's comment about being a united front.
Roy
i'm with 2x4. man i've preached the united front for years. to bad we all can't get together. maybe in a few weeks we can get together and see if we can pool our ideas and try to get something done. anyone down for some type of meeting.
ReplyDeletelet's do it. as for future short track/cx course, what about george rodgers or that park at newburg and trevillian?
ReplyDeletei can tell you whats going to happen. the unresponsable dog people that go down there now and dont pick up after there dogs are not going to pay to use something they were using for free and they will walk right by the fencing with there out of control dogs, safley contained in there i do no wrong bubble. i dont give a rats ass about the polotics of the situation .the responsible dog people will be in the fence .the runners and the cyclists will just be shit out of luck looking for a new place. the park works now, not perfect but it serves the purpose of a park, to recreate get out in nature. we all knew this was comming if you were down in the park enough you saw the plan in the window. weave been given another spot and soon as we drain the swamp chop down the trees and burn out yhe homeless it will be just like home peace out l r
ReplyDeletei smell a public protest!!!
